Wet Blasting

Wet blasting, is a surface treatment process that uses a mixture of abrasive media and water propelled by compressed air. This method is used to clean, smooth, roughen, or shape surfaces. It's essentially a combination of the abrasive action of traditional dry sandblasting with the added benefits of water for dust suppression, cleaning, and containment. 

The use of both high pressure water jets and fine media guarantees that all dirt or rust is dislodged and removed in the process. It’s like giving the component a thorough scrubbing in order to achieve the very best finish.

There are no chemical, or hazardous materials used in the Wet Blasting process. We simply mix glass beads and water to create a high pressure “slurry”. This is one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly ways of cleaning automotive components.

Wet Blasting ensures that the water cushions and lubricates the glass beads as they impact the surface. This both protects the surface from damage, and ensures the soft, satin glow which is characteristic of the procedure.

The component surface will be blasted during the Wet Blasting process. This will leave the component stripped of the top surface revealing the underlining condition of the component hidden by paint or corrosion. Different composite of metal will have different finishes, such as aluminium, cast iron and ferrous metals. We cannot guarantee that any items that are blasted will not be damaged as a result of the removal of top coatings, if the underlying metal is already compromised.
